DPJ Civil Pty Ltd was founded 35 years ago by Butch Dunlop. The company steadily grew and in 1993 appointed its first professional engineer. Darren Pitson joined the company in 1994 and partnered with Butch in 1999 to form Dunlop & Pitson Earthmoving. Since then Evan Jenkins has joined the partnership and the company now trades as DPJ Civil to reflect the new management.

The company now has 40+ employees including a professional engineer and its own workshop with a staff of three. We operate over 40 items of major plant including a range of excavators(1.5t to 45t), backhoes, bobcats, truck & trailers, graders, loaders, scrapers, dozers, compactors and various other earthmoving equipment.

The majority of work undertaken is within a 15 kilometre radius of the Bendigo region which allows DPJ Civil to maintain a close working relationship with all of its clients.

For the past three to four years its major clients has been Villawood Properties, City of Greater Bendigo, Integra and Arbor Estates as well as various subdivision developers such as Terraco, Tomkinson and TPD. Presently larger subdivisions have been the companies focus. Construction teams of 4 to 8 men have been established, so that large subdivisions proceed quickly and efficiently to allow the developer to get blocks on the market in good time.

These teams are capable of the full range of construction activities including, bulk earthworks, final trim earthworks, drainage, sewerage, water mains, gas mains, Telstra and electrical conduits and road works. With the concrete kerb and footpath and asphalt works sub-contracted out to local companies.
